Almost 200 euros cheaper: Garmin smartwatch in mega sale

Instead of 379 euros (RRP), only 199 euros are currently on the price tag for the Garmin Venu at Saturn. There is a price reduction of 180 euros when buying a smartwatch compared to the manufacturer price. The watch is already a few years old and already has a successor. Nevertheless, it is still a real tip, especially at a bargain price.
Garmin Venu: Smartwatch with AMOLED display and many functions
The Garmin Venu impresses above all with its round AMOLED display, which can display the rudimentary content sharply, colorfully and even in backlight. With a diameter of 3.04 centimeters plus a robust but not particularly conspicuous housing, the display is also quite large without making the watch bulky. In short: the Garmin Venu is suitable as a sports companion in any situation, but can also be worn as an elegant wristwatch without business shirts causing bulges on the arm.
It is controlled by touch gestures and two buttons on the right side of the watch case. A rubber strap is included as standard, but it can also be easily changed. On the underside are the sensors that record all sorts of data. The Garmin Venu is one of the few smartwatches in its price range that reads extensive health data, including blood oxygen levels.
Also located below: the magnetic charging plug for charging. A shortcoming in terms of convenience: Garmin relies on its own proprietary connector model. So you can't charge them with USB-C, you have to use the Garmin connector. It has advantages in terms of feel and technology – but you always have to have it with you. The Venu cannot be charged wirelessly.
However, the watch can manage for a few days without charging – depending on how consistently you use it, Garmin promises a runtime of up to 5 days.

No eSIM, but many standalone functions

The Venu is not a standalone smartwatch. So you can't activate an eSIM and go online yourself. But in combination with the smartphone, it offers even more possibilities – and can also be used without it. The 4 GB storage space allows you to save Spotify playlists, which you can listen to with headphones on the go, even without a smartphone. Garmin Pay allows you to activate an NFC payment method.

If your smartphone is within Bluetooth range, the watch synchronizes continuously and shows the push notifications on the small display. The effect: You take out your smartphone much less often to check unimportant messages. In the end, this saves more cell phone battery due to less display time than is consumed by the ongoing Bluetooth connection.

Health and Fitness Data

The clock measures steps, lengths, bicycle kilometers and much more. It is made for fitness and sports activities of all kinds. It is also waterproof for swimming and dustproof, which makes it a real all-rounder. The integrated GPS module records your routes, even if you don't have your smartphone with you.

This data is collected and interpreted via the sensors:

If you go into more detail and fully exploit the strengths of the Garmin Connect app, the watch even becomes a personal trainer on the way to your next half marathon or other goals. A dedicated Garmin app store, which contains many outdoor and hobby apps, is also integrated into the app and watch operating system. You can also purchase new clock widgets and themes here.
At Saturn and MediaMarkt, the Garmin Venu is available in black and slate gray as well as beige and rose gold at a price of 199 euros.
